"...even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved)... For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works..." Ephesians 2:5, 10

Devotional

As defenders of the faith, our strength doesn’t come from rigid rule keeping, but from the life changing truth of Christ’s supremacy and grace.

We were spiritually dead, stuck and powerless in our sin when God stepped in and made us alive again. Because of the cross, we’re released from the crushing pressure of trying to earn heaven. Salvation is a pure gift, so there’s no room for pride.

Defending the faith isn’t about pointing fingers or passing judgment, it’s about living from our shared identity as the Body of Christ. You are not a cosmic accident or a defective leftover. You are God’s custom crafted masterpiece, His workmanship, brought to life for the good works He already prepared for you.

Reflection

  • What does it mean to you that God loved you at your lowest, long before you had it all together?
  • If you truly believed you are God’s intentional masterpiece, how would that reshape the way you speak to yourself and the way you treat the people around you?

Prayer

In the name of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your rich mercy. When I was overwhelmed by failure and mess, You still loved me and breathed new life into my soul.

Son of God, thank You for freeing me from the need to earn Your love. Remind me that I am Your one-of-a-kind masterpiece, and give me courage to walk in the purpose You’ve already prepared for me.

Holy Spirit, soften my heart and wash away every urge to judge or compare. Knit me more closely to the Body of Christ, and let Your kindness overflow through my everyday life.

Glory be to God the Father, and to God the Son, and to God the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end, Amen.
