No More Wounds!

"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."

Devotional

You do not need another wound to confirm what the first one already taught you. How often do we replay old hurts, test new relationships with past suspicions, or reopen healing scars just to prove to ourselves that the world can still hurt us? We think that staying bruised keeps us vigilant. We assume that if we hold onto the pain of the first wound, it will act as a permanent shield against the next one.

We are called to live out of a place of healing, not repeated trauma. The first heartbreak, failure, or betrayal already taught you what you needed to know about human brokenness. You don't need to keep bleeding to remember that life is fragile. Instead, look to the One who specializes in stitching up what is torn.

Stop going back to the scene of the crime in your mind, waiting for the other shoe to drop. Let the old scar rest, and let Christ's gentle hands bind up the ache once and for all.

Reflection

Are there old hurts from your past that you secretly keep poking at, expecting them to hurt all over again, just to feel prepared for the worst?

What would it look like today to truly believe that Christ’s healing is enough, allowing you to stop bracing yourself for the next blow and simply rest in His safety?

Prayer

Heavenly Father, You see the hidden scars I still carry and the ways I exhaust myself by trying to protect my own heart. Forgive me for holding onto old pain as if it were a shield, when You are my true protector.
Lord Jesus, thank You for bearing our griefs and carrying our sorrows. You know what it means to be wounded. Heal my tendency to anticipate hurt, and teach me how to live out of Your victory rather than my past trauma.
Holy Spirit, gently calm the places in my soul that are still bracing for impact. Fill those quiet spaces with Your peace, and remind me that I am safe, held, and completely whole in the Body of Christ.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
