Chosen to Lead

“Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”

1 Timothy 4:12

Devotion:

Youth is not a limitation, it is a divine season of preparation and power. God does not wait for people to grow old before using them. He called David as a shepherd boy, Jeremiah as a youth, and Mary as a young woman to carry the Savior of the world.

What made them leaders wasn’t age, but obedience, courage, and a heart for God.
Leadership is not about titles, but about influence. It’s about showing others the way, through love, faith, and purity.

As young leaders in the church, we are called to set the pace, not follow the world. Our prayers, service, attitude, and decisions can spark revival in our generation.
When we lead, we give others permission to rise. Don’t wait for perfection, step out in faith, knowing that God qualifies the called.

Keys to Youth Leadership:

Be Present – Show up consistently in service, and in prayer. Leadership starts with availability.

Be Courageous – Lead even when you feel afraid or unqualified. Remember, God said to Joshua, “Be strong and of a good courage.”

Be Christlike – Let your lifestyle reflect Jesus. People will follow the light they see in you.

Reflection Questions:

  • What gifts or passions has God given you to lead with?
  • What stops you from stepping up?
  • Who in your generation needs your encouragement or example?

Prayer:

In the name of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Lord, thank You for calling me as a leader in this generation. I surrender my fears and doubts to You. Use me to set an example of faith, love, and service. Help me to rise and lead with Your strength and wisdom. Make me a light in my lifetim, and ignite a passion in me to serve You with all my heart.

In the name of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, Amen.
