God Still Speaks

“And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.”

Acts 2:17

God’s Language of the Night

Dreams and visions are not just remnants of imagination. In Scripture, they are often God’s chosen method of communication, especially when He wants to guide, warn, reveal mysteries, or ignite a deeper spiritual journey.

God gave Joseph dreams that prepared him for a position of national leadership. Daniel received night visions that decoded kings’ secrets and revealed end-time prophecies. Peter received a vision that opened the Gospel to the Gentiles. And Jesus’ earthly father Joseph was warned in dreams to protect the Messiah.

Why Dreams and Visions Matter

1. Personal Guidance

God uses dreams to provide direction in moments of uncertainty.

2. Spiritual Awakening

They awaken our hearts to the unseen and bring clarity to divine purpose.

3. Warnings and Warfare

Dreams can serve as early warnings, equipping us to pray, prepare, or redirect.

4. Encounters with God

Many believers encounter deep intimacy and revelation through visions.

Spiritual Discernment is Key

Not all dreams are from God. The Bible commands us to “try the spirits whether they are of God” (1 John 4:1). We must test dreams against the Word, seek peace from the Holy Spirit, and ask for interpretation.

Prayer

In the name of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Lord, thank You for still speaking today. Open my spiritual ears and eyes to hear and see what You’re saying, even in the night seasons. Teach me to discern Your voice in my dreams and to respond with faith and obedience. May every vision and revelation align with Your Word and draw me closer to You.

In the name of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Reflection

Have you had a dream or vision that impacted your life?

Are you paying attention when God whispers at night?

God is still speaking. Are you still listening?
