Scripture:
“For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.” Galatians 5:13
Devotion:
True service begins in the heart. It is not born out of obligation, pride, or a desire for recognition, but from love - pure, selfless, Christ-like love.
Jesus Christ, the Son of God, knelt and washed the feet of His disciples, not to prove a point, but to demonstrate what love in action looks like. He served from a place of love, even knowing that one of them would betray Him.
When we serve others, whether in ministry, in our homes, workplaces, or communities, our motive must be love. Love brings humility, patience, and compassion. It transforms routine tasks into sacred acts of worship. It removes grumbling and replaces it with gratitude.
Serving from a place of love means seeing others the way God sees them. It means doing small things with great care, and big things with quiet grace. When love fuels our service, the impact goes beyond the moment, it touches hearts, draws people to God, and glorifies Him.
Reflection Questions:
Prayer:
In the name of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Heavenly Father, teach me to serve from a place of love. Remove selfish ambition, pride, and apathy from my heart. Fill me with the love of Christ, that I may serve others with joy, humility, and compassion. Let every act of service be an offering of worship unto You. May Your love be seen through me, and may others be drawn to You as I serve.
In the name of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, Amen.
